6 Tips For Choosing The Right Blinds

Australian consumers are a savvy bunch. So when purchasing blinds, here are some things to consider to make sure you maximise your investment.

1. Think about your style

Every room has a theme or style with your personal touch. Blinds should fit in with that style and integrate nicely with the decor of your room.

2. Pick a suitable material

Blinds come in a range of different materials which can vary in suitability depending on your space. For areas exposed to high heat you may want to consider aluminium shutters, or roman blinds, roller blinds or panel glides made from fabric, with a white or reflective backing. So you may look to choose more elegant blinds. Roman blinds and roller shades are good options here.

5. Safety of your loved ones

If you have kids and pets, choosing window coverings that don’t have dangling cords or rails that could be hazardous needs to be taken into consideration. However technological advancements in the industry means safety blinds have become safer and easier to operate.

6. Cleaning

Unfortunately, all blinds attract dust. But luckily they only need occassional cleaning. Some sensitive fabrics are better suited to professional cleaning techniques so if you don’t want to worry about hiring a pro to clean them, choose a blind that is easily cleaned by yourself.
